My name is Matt Martinez and the man behind Red Hare Images. My photography career started out completely by accident when a friend let me borrow their DSLR camera for a day. Just getting to try out a professional camera and see the images it could capture, my impulsivity struck and a week later I bought my first Nikon DSLR camera.

Once I started shooting concerts, my love for photography quickly developed into something more than just a hobby. I found it positively challenging and exciting not having control over the lights or my subject. Instead, as I learned, you have to adapt to your surroundings, which forces you to hone in on your technique and learn how to be creative when you don't control your environment. Seeing the results of these larger than life performers captured by my own eye, I was hooked instantly. Eventually, I branched into portrait work. Being able to control the light and my environment really provided me the canvas to let my skills and creativity grow.

Since picking up the camera I have had the privilege to photograph over 200 live concerts. Furthermore, I am honored to have worked with musicians directly in the recording studio and shooting band promos, as well as directing models of all experience levels in front of my lens. I am published for my live concert work and my studio portrait work. In magazines: Guitar World, Bass Guitar, Retro Lovely, Xpressions, Vixen Girl Collective, Edith, VZSN, Modelz View and Prestige Models to name a few. My work has also been used for bands album artwork.

I operate in Orange County and Los Angeles area of California. Please contact me for any inquiries on your next live event or to help bring your ideas to fruition through the lens of Red Hare Images.
